Course Description:
The mentoring of arborists is critical to the professional development cycle of many arborists. In order to be effective, both the role of the mentor as well as that of the mentee must be clearly established. As a mentor, one must possess not only arboriculture skills but also mentoring skills so that the learning process is successful. During this presentation, various mentoring techniques will be described and examples of mentoring approaches will be provided. In addition, the presenter will provide a variety of ways that a mentor can effectively support their mentee throughout the process.
