Course Description:

Join us for a two-part educational webinar designed specifically for arborists interested in learning how their work intersects with the field of landscape architecture. This session will begin with an introduction to the profession of landscape architecture—exploring what landscape architects do, how they’re trained, and the types of clients and projects they serve. Special attention will be given to how landscape architects and arborists collaborate in real-world projects to achieve shared goals related to tree preservation, public safety, and placemaking.

In the second part of the session, we’ll explore the key elements of successful public realm design and how thoughtful design can impact the durability, aesthetics, functionality, and long-term success of urban spaces. We’ll examine up to four local case studies—including Trees for Tampa, Drew Park, Outdoor Dining Streetscapes, and the USF Football Stadium—to highlight practical examples of how landscape design decisions address specific challenges and incorporate trees as critical components of the urban experience.
